Hello There!

My name is Desaray and I write books that introduce children to the African continent and help them gain cultural competence at an early age. I am committed to helping children explore the beauty of African cultures and understand the wisdom in African languages in a simple way. My hope is that my writing will help children discover common affirmations that exist among all people in order to grow their own confidence as global citizens.

I am an artist as well as a businesswoman and author. So, when I'm not writing you'll find me sewing, drawing, or trying a new recipe. I am married to my college sweetheart and we live outside Washington DC, where I homeschool our four children.
